2nd Bernard Bruno Memorial Quickplay - 26th June 2010
This tournament has been set-up in memory of Bernard Bruno, who passed away during the 2008/9 season. This year we introduced a new trophy, Highest Placed First-Round loser, in memory of Ken Lane and Ian Halsey, two long-standing members who sadly passed away this season.
It was an enjoyable afternoon played in a friendly atmosphere – many thanks to Paula Payne for the refreshments.

We switched from a material handicap to a time handicap this year and it seemed to work much better (well, I would say that wouldn’t I?).
Matt Payne set out in defence of his title with a couple of wins but was somewhat unfortunately stopped in his tracks by the eventual winner after he’d built-up a dominating position.
It was great to see Dave Chirgwin back in action (particularly as he beat Chris Jones) and our latest 2 junior members played too – Sam and Joseph. Joseph was unlucky to miss out on progressives for 2 of the trophies.
Robin Trinkwon had a good tournament and missed out to Arthur on the Ken Lane / Ian Halsey Trophy on sum of opponents scores by just ½ point – he had the U-100 as consolation though.
